Administrative Assistant
Reports to: Director of Administration Effective: 12/20/19
Status: Part-Time (15 hours during the week)
Compensation: $17-19/hour, depending on experience
FLSA: Exempt
Job Summary
The administrative assistant is responsible for a variety of tasks, working closely with the Director of Administration. Activities include preparation and distribution of materials such as weekly email, Sunday order of service, social media, and maintaining the website.
This position can be the first contact prospective members and the public has with our congregation. Therefore, we seek a candidate who easily engages in conversation, is a creative problem solver, and enjoys a lively work environment. Self-motivation, attention to detail, and flexibility are critical to this position.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Communications:
- Prepares, edits and publishes the weekly email.
- Prepares, edits, and prints the weekly Sunday order of service and inserts.
- Designs and distributes flyers, notices and signs.
- Updates the church bulletin board.
- Manages and creates copy for Facebook.
- Updates church website as needed.
- Maintains church online calendar of activities.
- Other communication tasks as developed and assigned.
Office Support:
- Provides general office support (filing, emailing, copying, etc..)
- Orders, organizes and maintains office and printer supplies.
- Keeps public office area looking neat and professional
- Provides support to committees and groups
- Answers phone and door
- Banking
- Provides support with Realm, Fourth Universalist’s database
Qualifications:
- Administrative or office experience preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem solving skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks independently
- Familiarity with on-line communication and social media tools (i.e. Mailchimp, Canva, Facebook, etc… or similar). Must be willing to be trained on all.
- Strong knowledge of Gmail, google docs
- Ability to write creatively and to edit and revise written materials.
- Ability to learn Realm, which is the church’s online database.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
